Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Children of all ages...May we present to you Captain Picard!

We finally had the ultrasound done and the great news is that the Captain is healthy and normal.
It was really weird because we never expected to see so much in the first ultrasound; Captain Picard was moving around and waving his/her little hand at us.
I never thought I would be so excited about this as I am, and am overwhelmed emotionally by the experience.
I've seen ultrasound pictures of other peoples' babies and just thought that they were grainy and couldn't make out anything really.
But -- I could see everything in ours, I guess because I was paying attention because it was my own child.
Seeing these pictures has really hit home and it is no longer an abstract idea now. We've seen our baby and we are both very very happy right now.
Jed
Y'all, Capt P was dancin' up a storm! Ok, I think he was doing the "Elaine," but it could have been the "Napoleon Dynamite." No, it was the most amazing thing ever, although I didn't cry as I had expected to (kinda hard to be all emotional with a probe invading my body!). The exam wasn't terrible, either, although I'm still not keen on being all naked and poked at...See ya later, dignity. But all is well; s/he looks healthy. A little smaller than normal, but the nurse says we may have undershot our due date by a couple days. I just know this kid is going to be born on my birthday (mom and Papa all over again...argh!). But, we hope you guys enjoy the pictures, and we'll keep you posted.
*For anyone ultrasound-challenged, the little lima bean's head is on the left side of the pictures. In all of them, he has his left hand up.
