A Life Less Ordinary

Hey everyone,

Been a while since I've last posted--I apologize for the delay; baby and I have been running to and fro from specialist to specialist for the past week. So we go for our two-month checkup about two weeks ago, and Cole isn't "tracking" (following object with his eyes) very well. Off to the opthamologist we go, who says that he is fine, although if he doesn't start tracking soon, we'll look into doing an MRI and/or CAT scan to check his entire visual/brain system. And then, because his kidneys were dialated in utero, we had to have another ultrasound. He still has fluid on his kidneys, although it's minimal, so we have earned ourselves another ultrasound in three months.

I'll tell you what--we have more issues that I know what to do with. Jed remains convinced that these referrals are all a mass conspiracy to steal our money because the bastards know we live on Augusta road. That is some bull-shit. Who knows, though? I just want the little guy to be ok.

He's been doing really well, though. Laughing, smiling, cooing. He loves to go with me everywhere. If I do laundry, he's there, on the dryer, watching me. We sing and laugh and talk all day. It's beyond precious.

All in all, life is beautiful--oh, did I mention this?!? We're going to Rio de Janeiro on March 19. Yeah, be jealous. Be very jealous.

Hi Sara and Jed,
Sorry to hear that you're having to go through more rounds of tests. I trust (and pray) that everything is fine, though I know you must be frustrated. He's so adorable. Glad to know he likes doing everything with you. Just wait til he's walking (or crawling or scooting). I'm in Boston for a couple of days. I'll call when I get home. Can't wait to see you.
Love, ad
