Juuuust Right

Went to the doctor today--no, no, not the processing plant better known as Highlands Center for Women, but our new physician at Greer Family Medicine. Strangely enough, he treated us like human beings, and not cattle! He even introduced himself to Jed, and invited us to ask questions prior to the exam. Nuts, eh? And he's entirely with us on our preferences for the birth...We'll be delivering at Allen Bennett Hospital, where they have big ole tubs for laboring in the water! Yesh! And he doesn't do routine episiotomies (super yesh!). It was honestly just...a breath of fresh air.
My belly is measuring perfectly, at 27 cm, and Picard's little heart sounds excellent. All in all, a great experience. The little guy is around 2 pounds now, and more than a foot long! He's pretty much completely developed--just has to cook a little while longer, gaining body fat and allowing his lungs to mature. We go back to the doctor in two weeks for the gestational diabetes test, so we'll let you know how that goes, although from what he says, we have little to worry about. From this point until the last month, we'll be having a doctor's visit every two weeks, which, if nothing else, allows me to get out of work and hence annoy the crap out of Brian ;)
Here's a picture of the belly we took tonight (27 weeks, 5 days).
